Welcome to 2016- 2017!

Dear Linwood Families,

 

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  This letter contains a few reminders for families as we get started with a new year.

We are looking forward to meeting with students and parents at our opening conferences on September 7 & 8.  Online conference booking is now open.  Instructions can be found with your June report card and online at http://linwood.sjsd.net. 

 All families are asked to attend the library 15 minutes before their first scheduled conference time to complete the final few pages of annual renewal paperwork.  This is in addition to the paperwork (pink forms) completed in the spring. 

 Families who have not yet paid school fees will need to submit fees to your child’s teacher during your conference. 

 

Fees for 16/17 are as follows:

Student Supplies: $ 35 for Kindergarten and $40 for Grades 1-5

 Fundraising (in lieu of a fundraiser, see office for further details): $20 for first child and $10 for subsequent children

 Recorder: $6 (Grades 2-5 only, if child does not yet have a recorder)

 

Fees may be submitted by cash or cheque payable to Linwood School (one cheque per family).   

 

Communication with our families in very important to us and we use a variety of means to help families stay informed. 

 

School wide communication tools include our school News Blog http://linwoodschool.blogspot.ca  which is used to share stories and information regarding events and activities at the school.  Readers may subscribe to receive an email when there is a new posting. 

 

The school also uses “Remind”, a service that provides text and/or email reminders to families about things that are important to the whole school (early dismissal, parent council events, inservice days, etc).  Should you have questions about either of these tools, please stop by the office during opening conferences so that we may be of assistance.

 

 All teaching staff, including specialists and administration, have email addresses listed on the blog should you wish to contact us that way.

 

The office is open daily from 8:15 AM -4:15 PM if you would like to reach a staff member by phone at 204-889-9356. 

 

During the opening conference, your child’s teacher will share with you regarding communication tools specific to their classroom.
